Why Carrier's are Evil, Handset Manufacturer's need to let go, and you're Next device Should be Pure Google Experiance

Wow, What a loaded title!! Where to begin.....

Carrier's:
I could go on and on about them but i will try to just focus on how this effects android in order to keep it brief. Id like to start off by saying what good about them........................   Ok now moving on to why they are Evil.  First off can i please speak on the behalf of every person in this Universe when i say WE DON'T WANT YOUR CRAP ON OUR PHONES!! Thats right get a clue At&t, Verizon, & Sprint i bought a google device, equipped with every flavor of google maps, earth, etc do you really think I'm going to use your maps or navigator program ?  Than there is the fake programs that are really just links to crap on the web i don't want, thanks!! My new personal favorite though had to be the blockbuster app (or lack there of) included or not included rather with the New Motorola Atrix, it was a link to a count down of when this app would be ready?!?  Lastly how bout the software they are putting on our phones to cripple the radio and or data on, can some one explain to me how this is legal ? Moving on, carrier's have become more controlling and crooked by the day, if your dumb enough (or broke) you accept a subsidized price for your new phone witch comes with on average a 2 year contract, now i use this term "contract" only because thats what they call it, but as a business owner i have never once came across a contract like these in my life, by that i mean that only one party (us) have to uphold are part of the contract, while the other party may, cancel, change , amend said contract when ever the f--- they feel like it.  Could you imagine if all business was allowed to run like this ?  One of my biggest complaints as of late about carriers is the subject of tethering, 10 years ago when i first started buying smart phones and mobile devices the biggest feature that they sold us business savy on was the ability to use are phones as a modem to link up are laptops, all early windows mobile and other devices had this feature, but than some how this feature seemed to leave devices quietly and your new upgraded better phone lacked this capability like some how technology moved backwards, but it didn't they just took it out so that later (now) they can re introduce it like a new feature and charge more, well that and they realized they could sell idiots mobile broadband cards and charge a whole new data plan with those as well.  Now we have entered the day and age of tablets , witch they also want you to own a mobile data plan for, when will some one step in and do something about this ? I for one will admit that every device i have ever owned i have managed to enable tethering on and have done so and will continue to do so, now i do not condone stealing or piracy or anything like that so let me explain.  First off you can't sell me a car and disable its features and try and charge me more money to "enable " them .. also like the activation charge when i am the one putting my sim into my new gsm phone (the only thing required to " " activate them).  Secondly as i am still on a unlimited data plan, i would have to be an idiot to than pay more money so that you can switch me to a plan with capped data , thats right they don't even offer a plan to add tethering to a unlimited plan.  Finally the main point, you can argue all you want but the fact remains is i paid for an unlimited data plan now i do not walk around with a wireless hot spot that is open allowing everyone to connect to my phone and use my paid for internet ( there for stealing from the provider) I use tethering when im sitting on my couch and id rather browse the web from my 10in screen of my tablet rather than the 4 in screen of my phone, I am paying for the data and what device i choose to view it on is not of any relevance, this is not the day and age where i paid for mobile (no nothing, and only a few sites internet) and am now stealing and viewing the whole thing.  This is the "real internet, not the ...." the commercials say, so if i want to tether that same real internet to a larger screen i will.  Next beef has to be the disabling of me loading applications to my phone, where do you get off, you bake a bunch of crapware into my system partition that i can not remove (well i can but still) but than tell me i cant load what i want onto my device? One great example is of me, i am a business owner as i mentioned i also am a small time developer, i typically do not release my applications into the wild or through the android market, why? because i built them from me and my needs, i did not build them to earn money or fix other peoples problems, and most of them are built and designed around what i use or need to use for work and would not even help other people, because its built around my store's data base. I could go on and on but lets face it this is one example of where capitalism is failing us in the US. At&t just bought T-mobile making them the only GSM carrier in the united states, in case you don't know this is a big deal because the rest of the world uses GSM so when i travel on business i can buy a foreign sim and use my same phone over seas, or on a different network if i choose.  At&t is getting worse and more controlling by the day where is this going to leave us? Yes it is  America and yes we have the right to compete, but when the industry leaders are so big they just cripple you into a corner until you sell to them this is not really capitalism is it ?

Next up Phone and Device Manufacturers:

To Put it simply ..... LET IT GO!!  Please, Please, Please stop "skining" and putting other crap on top of android, you won the lottery some one has finally created a open source platform that the whole world has adopted and loved.  You now are so lucky you dont have to develop your own os or pay royalties, so stop with the god da-- "customizations" of it.  You know what people want, they want you to update the software when Google does, meaning every 6 months compile a new kernel with the new os version and your modules etc... it could not be any simpler for you, hell if you even just kept the drivers and kernel sources readily available you wouldn't even have to do it as developers and people on the internet would do it for you!!  Now some of you complain that the skins are the only way to compete and differentiate your self from the rest of the market.  UNTRUE people are buying it for the hardware, they already love android so give them a sleek high powered device, make some with keyboards , some with out. and make them in a variety of processors and storage and you will have your market share.  Example Motorola Razer, it had to be one of the most successful cell phones ever, why? because it was a sleek thin, sexy flip phone that didn't break easily or pocket dial your mom while you were having sex in the back seat of her car.  God i hate to use it here but what about the iphone? Apple does not skin the phone to make em different, instead they offer 2 colors, and a bunch of accessories.  If you really just cant keep your self from skining the phone than here is an idea,  don't bake it into the system partition or make it part of the system all together instead build an alternative launcher that can be removed or not used, also because you like skinning so much, skin the cat twice and sell your skins in the android market and im sure people would buy them, hell make them only four your devices, so when everyone is raving about that sweet new Motorola or Samsung launcher or app, people are more likely to make there next device Motorola or Samsung.  Next lets talk about this bootloader situation .... What exactly are we doing here guys?  I just don't get it, please stop hiding behind your pr and explain this to us as to how you are protecting us by locking down "OUR" devices, you right maybe a lot of people don't know what this is or care... great than they wont be mucking around with your super secure (wink, wink) device, as for the rest of us tech savy individuals your just pissing us off, i would never buy a computer that had a locked bootloader neither would you, i can promise that i will never do it again, on a side note i am writting to the the fcc and everyone else that will listen that this is a requirement to put on the box, if you want to lock down the phone than you must advertise it so that we don't get stuck with a device in a contract that is a legacy model in 6 months into that contract because you don't care to support it or your custom skin wont work with the new OS updates.  We don't want your protection, we never asked for it, and if i wan to use my device as a paperweight or what ever that is my choice because i own it, you lost control once you decided to sell it, this seems to be the problem for you guys as i said above "JUST LET GO!!"  You want to limit returns or problems ? than publicly release retail versions of the stock software, or email them upon request, and make a user friendly recovery, so at most your support is still out sourced to people in foreign countries where my language is their fourth and you pay them an unfair wage..   Lastly, stand up against these carriers, i know they sell your products, but they need your phones so you do make the rules, make them cripple the software and stop doing it for them, if you guys all hold strong to these policies what choice will they have?

Witch brings me to my final rant, buy a pure Google experience device, you wont be sorry, first for updates, most control, high end specs, and more than likely no contract from your provider. I have owned two, recently i made the mistake of buying the Motorola Atrix and as much as i love the hardware and the device the fact that i have spent three weeks working with a crippled dirty device and have no option to fix on my own has left a nasty taste in my mouth.  If we all boost the sales of these Dev type devices than the carriers and manufacturers will have to take notice and change there evil ways.

Keep posted as i will continue to rant and rave about my loves and hates and what is new and great!!
